Complete the Drunken Boar quest in Black Myth: Wukong with this guide. Learn how to sober up the Boar and defeat the Yellow-Robed Squire.
One of the quests in Black Myth: Wukong involves a character known as the Drunken Boar or the Yellow-Robed Squire. This quest, which takes place in Yellow Wind Ridge, the second level of the game, requires a series of specific actions to complete.
Let’s break down how to complete the Drunken Boar quest in Black Myth: Wukong.
Your journey with the Drunken Boar begins near the Rockrest Flat Keeper’s Shrine in the Fright Cliff area of Chapter 2.
Once you pass this checkpoint, head forward until you reach a small wooden fence. Jump or roll past it, and you’ll find the Drunken Boar sitting on a rock, too drunk to interact with you properly.
The Drunken Boar needs a Sobering Stone to wake up, which you’ll find after defeating the Tiger Vanguard in the Crouching Tiger Temple.
Once the Tiger Vanguard is defeated, take the path leading out from the back of the arena until you reach the Windrest Bridge Keeper’s Shrine. Cross the bridge, and in the back-left corner of the village, you’ll find a pot glowing with light. Break this pot to retrieve the Sobering Stone.
Alternatively, another way to acquire a Sobering Stone is by helping the Man Trapped in Stone. First, defeat the Mother of Stones in the cave before the Rockrest Flat Shrine, then return to the Man Trapped in Stone.
After a brief confrontation, you’ll be able to purchase a Sobering Stone from his shop for 6480 Will.
With the Sobering Stone in hand, return to the Drunken Boar at Rockrest Flat. After giving him the stone, he’ll stand up and mention the Temple of Crouching Tiger. He will then move to this location, where you must meet him next.
At the Temple Entrance Keeper’s Shrine, you’ll find the Drunken Boar sitting in an alcove on the right side, just before the arena where the Tiger Vanguard was defeated. Here, he requests a Jade Lotus.
If you don’t have one in your inventory, you can find Jade Lotus in pools of water scattered across Yellow Wind Ridge. One such pool is at the very beginning of the level. Use fast travel to the Village Entrance, climb the nearby stairs, and turn left to find it.
Once you have the Jade Lotus, return to the Temple Entrance and give it to the Drunken Boar. He’ll thank you and mention heading to his next destination.
After completing these tasks, return to the open area near the Rockrest Flat Keeper’s Shrine, where you initially encountered the Drunken Boar.
This time, the Drunken Boar, now referred to as the Yellow-Robed Squire, will challenge you to a battle. This fight can be tough due to the Yellow-Robed Squire’s large health pool, but his attack patterns are manageable with patience and strategy.
Focus on dodging his attacks and striking when there’s an opening.
Upon defeating the Yellow-Robed Squire, he will pass through a crack in the large doors nearby. Follow him through this crack to enter the Kingdom of Sahali, a secret area with new challenges.
Here, you’ll encounter two more bosses: another Tiger Vanguard, located just beyond the Sandgate Pass Keeper’s Shrine, and Fuban, who appears after speaking with an NPC near a drum on a cliff past the Sandgate Bound Keeper’s Shrine.
Defeating both of these bosses will return you to the Yellow-Robed Squire’s arena, where you’ll receive the following rewards:
