Finding the Prisoner

Your quest begins in the Pagoda Realm. After escaping your cell walk forward until you spot another cell with a purple seal. This is the Prisoner’s location.

You can talk to him but don’t worry if the conversation feels short – you can’t enter his cell just yet.

Starting the Prisoner Quest

To kick things off you need to beat a hidden boss. Here’s what you need to complete first:

  1. Go to the Upper Pagoda Keeper’s Shrine
  2. Turn around and jump onto the red roof below
  3. Drop to the ground to find Captain Lotus-Vision

Beat this boss and grab his Spirit. Now head back to the Prisoner. You can break the gate and start the quest for real.

Collecting Captain Spirits

The Prisoner asks you to find three more Captain Spirits. Let’s track them down and defeat these bosses:

  1. Captain Wise-Voice: You’ll fight this boss as part of the main story. Find him at the Mani Wheel Keeper’s Shrine in Pagoda Realm. Beat him and take his Spirit.
  2. Captain Void-Illusion: This one’s in the Valley of Ecstasy. From the Longevity Road Keeper’s Shrine turn right twice. You’ll see a big corpse. Interact with it for the Spirit.
  3. Captain Kalpa-Wave: Another story boss in the Valley of Ecstasy. From the Longevity Road Keeper’s Shrine go to the end of the big arena. Stick to the right climb the stairs and you’ll find him. Beat him for the last Spirit.

Once you’ve got all four Spirits, head back to the Prisoner in Lower Pagoda. Hand them over and you’ll get the following rewards:

  • Chubai Spearhead: Use this to craft the Chu Bai Spear
  • Ashen Slumber: A Transformation Spell

Bonus Tip: Don’t forget to pull out the sword from the dead animal next to the Prisoner for the Ashen Slumber spell.
