This guide covers all you need to know on how to complete “A Beggar’s Tale” quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
In the recently released RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can embark on a very interesting side quest called “A Beggar’s Tale”. This particular quest requires a lot of patience, as you need to follow and investigate a beggar to uncover the truth behind his tales. Let’s find out how to complete “A Beggar’s Tale” quest in this guide!
It’s easy to miss the start of this side mission entirely. Head to the town square in Vernworth where you’ll find a beggar repeatedly telling stories to passersby.
Nearby, there will also be a peasant NPC standing and listening to the beggar’s tales. Interact with this peasant to begin the “A Beggar’s Tale” quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
The peasant will ask you to look into whether the beggar is being truthful about his situation or if he is deceiving the townsfolk. This kicks off a lengthy process of tailing and spying on the beggar.
For the first part, you’ll need to wait patiently and listen to all the beggar’s stories until he gets up to leave as night falls.
Follow him at a distance as he heads to a seedy bar at the edge of town. Watch as he drinks and converses closely with the Beastern barmaid there.
When night falls completely, the beggar will suddenly take off running through back alleys.
After waiting around 10 more minutes, the beggar’s house door will unlock. Enter and pick up his beggar’s clothes lying on the floor inside.
You’ll then be given a choice of two locations to take the clothes – either to the noble quarter of Vernworth or another. For this guide, we’ll assume you chose to take the clothes to the noble quarter in the north.
Outside a stately home, you’ll meet and speak to the beggar’s wife, who is dismayed to learn of her husband’s deception. She’ll place the clothes prominently inside and ask you to return in a few days.
Wait around 2-3 days by sleeping at an inn or simply passing time however you wish.
The beggar himself will no longer be seen loitering in Vernworth’s town square going forward. This intriguing side quest highlights how deeply Dragon’s Dogma 2’s world is crafted with surprisingly detail-rich side content to discover.
While “A Beggar’s Tale” requires a lot of patience early on to slowly follow the beggar’s routine, seeing it through to the end provides an engaging bit of storyline. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is filled with many more memorable side quests like this one waiting to be uncovered across its vast open world.
