Here’s a comprehensive guide to navigating through all the Sphinx’s riddles and overcoming them effortlessly.

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, players encounter a captivating challenge involving the Sphinx, an optional boss, presenting a two-part ordeal. One needs to solve a bunch of riddles before engaging in a boss battle with a twist. Successful completion of this challenge rewards players with substantial in-game currency, over 100,000 gold, and various powerful items, including an arrow capable of defeating any enemy with a single shot.

Before delving into the riddles, it’s essential to grasp two critical aspects of this challenge:

  • Two different sets of 5 riddles are situated in two different locations. The second set’s riddles are in a random order, and one riddle specifically inquires about the number of riddles solved.
  • Failing at any point results in the challenge’s termination for the playthrough, with no opportunity for another attempt.

1. Riddle of Eyes Solution:

  • Riddle: “Our eyes are our allies, yet oft do they betray, for eyes tell lies, so I advise, and thence do lead astray. Yet how will your eyes advise you? Venture through yonder door and retrieve that which is of greatest value.”
  • Solution: This riddle highlights the deceptive nature of appearances. Players must enter a designated room and immediately turn around to spot a chest above the entrance. Inside, they’ll find a sealing vial, which they need to present to the Sphinx.

2. Riddle of Madness Solution:

  • Riddle: “Love is as twin to madness, they say. They are bound fast, as night is to day. So bring forth your most beloved to me, that I might gauge the depth of your insanity.”
  • Solution: Instead of fetching a specific NPC with whom they have the strongest bond, players should place all three of their pawns on the pedestal provided.

3. Riddle of Wisdom Solution:

  • Riddle: “The parent knows the child, yet the reverse is far from true. The child knows not the parent; such is the parent’s due. I am a lost child, for kinship do I yearn. So bring to me my parent, that I may learn.”
  • Solution: Players need to recruit a specific Capcom pawn – SphinxParent, SphinxMother, or SphinxFather – found in Havre Village at the Riftstone of Fellowship, and have them in their party.

4. Riddle of Conviction Solution:

  • Riddle: “Life is an enigma–a lender of mortal debt. Yet lighter pack makes fleeter foot and challenge nimbly met. So grant to me what you most prize, and hence elude your ponderous demise.”
  • Solution: Players must give up their most valuable item. Any item offered will work, and upon relinquishing it, players receive two of the same item back.

5. Riddle of Rumination Solution:

  • Riddle: “You know of Seeker’s Tokens, I trust? Those keepsakes of a fondly remembered journey? Yet where it was that you found your first? Retrace your steps, if you can–you might make a new discovery.”
  • Solution: Players have seven in-game days to find a Finder’s Token at the location where they found their first Seeker Token. Bringing this token back to the Sphinx completes the challenge.

6. Riddle of Reunion Solution:

  • Riddle: Automatically completed once players find the Sphinx’s second location. Simply looting the chest behind her concludes this riddle.

7. Riddle of Recollection Solution:

  • Riddle: “My memory fails me, you see. Remind me, and make it plain. Let yonder statues be your means. For every question aptly answered, bring one here before me.”
  • Solution: Players will have to pick the statue to the left and  place them in front of the Sphinx. The number of statues placed should correspond to the number of riddles solved.

8. Riddle of Contest Solution:

  • Riddle: Players are equipped with a ring that reduces damage, and they must defeat an enemy spawned by the Sphinx. The easiest way to complete this challenge is by throwing the enemy off a cliff.

9. Riddle of Futility Solution:

  • Riddle: “Here I have an amphora destined for Ser Maurits in Battahl. Deliver it to him, but beware; it’s rather fragile.”
  • Solution: The Sphinx gives players a vase to carry to a specific NPC, marked on the map in Bakbattahl. To prevent the vase from breaking, players can bring the NPC to the vase instead of carrying it to the NPC.

10. Riddle of Differentiation Solution:

  • Riddle: “I seek this man. If men are so distinct, I’m sure you’ll meet him in a trice.”
  • Solution: Players are shown an image of an NPC whom they must find and bring back to the Sphinx. They need to identify the correct NPC from two similar ones and bring the right person to her.

These solutions provide players with the necessary guidance to successfully navigate through the Sphinx’s riddles and emerge victorious in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
