Vehicle construction takes center stage in the Mechanical Mayhem update. Major patch notes overview in the newly dropped LEGO Fortnite v29.10 are as follows:

  • Players can now create three different vehicle Builds: Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler.
    • Unlock their recipes by obtaining specific items like Power Cells, Flexwood, and Frostpine.
  • The update also introduces Vehicle Parts in the Toys section, allowing players to design custom vehicles.
    • Essential components include the Power Center (engine), Wheels (for movement), and Seats (for control and passengers).
  • To fuel vehicles, you’ll need Power Cells, made from Biomass obtained from the new Compost Bin station.
    • This eco-friendly approach lets you recycle old resources into clean energy, protecting the game’s precious biomes.
  • The Wrench tool lets you assign Switches and Thrusters to separate channels, providing greater control over your vehicle’s components. Additionally, the Illuminator item casts a radiant glow, illuminating dark areas for night driving.
  • Aside from vehicles, the update brings delectable desserts like Ice Cream, Snowberry Ice Cream, and Spicy Ice Cream (unlocked by adding Snow to your inventory). Plus, the suited tiger Oscar joins Jules, Comet, and Lynx as a potential new Villager.

All new patch notes overview for Fortnite Battle Royale v29.10 are as follows:

  • In Battle Royale, the “Rise of Midas” storyline sees the golden-touched mastermind Midas escaping from The Underworld.
    • Complete special Quests to help him flee the Island, earning rewards like the Cerberus Medallion Spray, Rose of Avarice Back Bling, and Queen in Gold Glider.
  • The classic “Floor is Lava” experience returns with a golden twist, featuring Chapter 5 Season 2 items and molten gold lava.
    • Complete dedicated Quests to unlock rewards like the Lightning King and Zeus Medallion Sprays, and The Gilded Vengeance Pickaxe.
  • The Ascendant Midas Outfit, Golden King’s Cape Back Bling, and Golden Touch Pickaxe hit the Item Shop on March 26th, 2024. These items also have a ghostly “Shade” Style.
  • The Solo Rise of Midas Cup on March 24th rewards top performers in each region with the Ascendant Midas Outfit and Golden King’s Cape Back Bling before they hit the Shop.
    • All players earning at least eight points receive The Rise of Midas Loading Screen.
  • Two new Mythic items arrive in Battle Royale: the Chains of Hades Olympian Power (pull enemies towards you) and the Shield Bubble Jr. (a mini version of the classic Shield Bubble).
  • Sniper rifles are now less common to find and no longer drop as Uncommon or Rare.
  • The Drum Gun now deals more damage and fires faster.
  • The Huntress DMR now deals more damage and shoots its projectiles faster.
  • The Frenzy Auto Shotgun now has a shorter maximum effective range.

Rocket Racing v29.10 Update Notes

New updates in Fortnite Rocket Racing are as follows:

  • Updates, Changes, and Improvements
    • Improvement in overall feeling of skydiving. Skydiving is activated when the front of your car and velocity are pointed downward. Your fall speed naturally increases in this state and vertical air dodge becomes relative to your vehicle instead of the world.
  • Speed Run
    • We’ve made it easier to identify your vehicle by applying a grey shader to other player vehicles when in a tight pack. We hope this change will make it easier to keep track of your vehicle as you compete for your best time!
  • Bug Fixes
    • Fixed losing speed or drift boost not being applied properly when landing.
    • Fixed rocket drifts sometimes redirect the car too fast after landing.
    • Fixed issues that would prevent the out-of-bounds tube from properly destroying vehicles.

Those are some of the main updates and changes in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 v29.10 patch notes. Complete v29.10 patch notes dropping from the Fortnite team for LEGO Fortnite and Battle Royale are as follows:

LEGO FORTNITE V29.10: MECHANICAL MAYHEM

WHO’S RIDING SHOTGUN?

Mechanical Mayhem introduces three vehicle Builds with their own way of taking you from place to place. (There are also new ways to make a custom vehicle… more on that in a bit!)

SPEEDER

LEGO Fortnite Speeder in Chapter 5 Season 2 patch notes
LEGO Fortnite Speeder

In a hurry? The Speeder is ideal for zipping from biome to biome. Unlock the recipe for the Speeder by adding a Power Cell (NEW!) to your inventory.

OFFROADER

LEGO Fortnite Offroader
LEGO Fortnite Offroader

The Offroader is perfect for carrying around multiple passengers. Unlock the recipe for the Offroader by adding Flexwood to your inventory (usually found in the Dry Valley biome).

HAULER

LEGO Fortnite Hauler
LEGO Fortnite Hauler

Let the Hauler do the heavy lifting because there’s plenty of room in the trunk. Unlock the recipe for the Hauler by adding Frostpine to your inventory (usually found in the Frostlands biome).

HOW TO MAKE VEHICLE BUILDS

When you unlock the recipe for a vehicle Build, you can create it from the Builds section of the Build menu.

If you’re the kind of person who throws away instructions before reading them, you can do things your own way using the Vehicle Parts in the Toys section. You’ll need some specific Toys if you want to class your creations as vehicles:

TOYS IN YOUR TOOLBOX

  • Power Center – The engine of your vehicle!
    • Load Power Centers up with Power Cells to power your vehicles. (That’s a lot of power.) The more Power Cells you load, the longer you can drive for.
LEGO Fortnite Power Center
LEGO Fortnite Power Center
  • Wheels – Turn in the right direction or give your vehicle an extra push!
    • If your vehicle has Turnable Wheels attached, you can use a Driver’s Seat to turn your vehicle. Unlike Turnable Wheels, Powered Wheels simply propel your vehicle forward.
  • Seats – For your safety… and comfort!
    • You’ll need a Driver’s Seat (a.k.a. steering wheel… they’re finally here!) to control and drive your vehicle. Place some extra Seats to take your friends on road trips.

HOW TO POWER VEHICLES

Waste not, want not. LEGO® Fortnite operates on an eco-friendly fuel policy to protect your world’s precious biomes. How? You can recycle your old resources into clean energy with a brand new Station:

COMPOST BIN

LEGO Fortnite Compost Bin
LEGO Fortnite Compost Bin

Is your inventory getting busy? Why throw your old items away when you can put them to good use!

The Compost Bin is a new Station that turns resources into Biomass, Fertilizer, or Soil. The number and rarity of what it spits out will depend on what you put in, but you’ll need to create Biomass to unlock the Power Cell recipe.

(One of the ingredients for a Power Cell is Glass. You can now find Glass from bandit camps around your world!)

NEED A TUNE-UP? USE A WRENCH!

LEGO Fortnite Wrench
LEGO Fortnite Wrench

It’s not just Toys in your toolbox. With a Wrench, you can assign Switches and Thrusters to channels, which means you can control as many Thrusters as you’d like using three separate Switches, rather than having one Switch controlling everything. Unlock the recipe for the Wrench by adding a Wooden Rod to your inventory.

ILLUMINATE THE DARK

LEGO Fortnite Illuminator
LEGO Fortnite Illuminator

This is for all the night drivers out there. Though not a Vehicle Part, the Illuminator will add an aura of light to your world in dark areas! Unlock the recipe for the Illuminator by adding a Thermal Fish to your inventory and having a Crafting Bench in your world.

Ready to become a mechanic after reading everything above? It’s okay if you aren’t — Jules, Comet, and Lynx will steer you in the right direction if you need a hand with vehicles!

MORE UPDATES!

ROAR

The suit-wearing tiger Oscar joins Jules, Comet, and Lynx as potential new Villagers!

SWEET (…AND SPICY?) TREATS

Nothing like dessert after fending off foes. You’ll unlock the recipes for Ice Cream, Snowberry Ice Cream, and Spicy Ice Cream if you add Snow to your inventory and have a Juicer in your world.

MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS, ADJUSTMENTS, AND BUG FIXES

GAMEPLAY

  • New smart transfer feature: transfer all similar items to and from storage.
  • It’s easier to visually tell when your constructs take damage.
  • With the new vehicle building features, we had to adjust some durability values. We recommend using higher-rarity resources to strengthen your constructs if any part breaks.
  • Items can be dropped one at a time when a stack is picked up.
  • Pools of fish can be found near new (but somehow already run-down) docks that are alongside lakes and rivers.
  • Made improvements to constructs so they remain stable when entering and exiting caves.
  • Made stabilization fixes for constructs traveling large distances across the world.

OTHER

  • The Stormy Emote will be updated to its full, intended animation in LEGO Fortnite.

MORE IN V29.01: HURL THE CHAINS OF HADES

Can’t get over The Underworld? The Chains of Hades Olympian Power is finally added in the recent Fortnite v29.10 patch notes update! Imbued with the energy of The Underworld, pulls faraway enemies into range of its devastating attack combo. This Mythic power can be found from the ground or Chests, or by defeating Hades if you can handle it.

SHIELD YOURSELF!

By Jove Zeus, the Island is crazy these days! Protect yourself from projectiles and explosives with the Shield Bubble Jr., a mini version of the classic Shield Bubble. You can find a Jr. from the ground or Chests.

Fortnite Shield Bubble Jr.

Like its bubbly predecessor, the Shield Bubble Jr. will cover you for a limited duration. It’s not without its vulnerabilities though: players can still run inside and it has a destroyable emitter. Don’t let others burst your bubble!

MAJOR BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue allowing players to throw the Thunderbolt of Zeus through structures.
  • Fixed an issue where players may have been able to shoot through player-built structures with the Gatekeeper Shotgun.
  • Fixed an issue where players may have been able to fly with the Wings of Icarus indefinitely.
  • Not a Battle Royale bug, but we also fixed a visual issue where players couldn’t see their earned XP from creator-made islands until returning to the Lobby.
