Find out how to complete the Wildfire quest in Rise of the Ronin in this guide. We’ll explain everything you need to know!
Embark on an exhilarating journey in Rise of the Ronin’s Wildfire quest, where your actions and decisions have far-reaching consequences.
With this guide as your companion, you’ll be prepared to face the trials and tribulations in the quest, forging your own legend in this epic tale of honor, loyalty, and redemption.
This comprehensive guide will walk adventurers through the quest’s objectives, provide strategies for overcoming formidable bosses, and offer insights into the complex storyline that unfolds.
Begin the quest by engaging in a conversation with Katsura outside the longhouse. He will request that you visit O-Ryo and Ryoma at the Omi Inn, situated in the Kawaramachi district, northeast of the longhouse.
Before moving forward, it is advisable to complete all of Ryoma’s Bond Missions to ensure his survival and unlock an Achievement/Trophy later in the game.
Upon reaching the Omi Inn, speak with O-Ryo to trigger a cutscene and initiate a new sub-mission, The Omi Inn Incident.
In this sub-mission, players must navigate through the inn, eliminating soldiers along the way. Employ stealth tactics to take out enemies silently, and be cautious of the powerful enemies guarding the storehouse key. Defeat this group to acquire the key and proceed outside, activating the Veiled Edge Banner.
You will also engage in two boss fights against Toshizo Hijikata and Hajime Saito in the rear courtyard. To help you, we will give breakdowns to both of the attacks from these bosses.

In this guide, we’re siding with the Revolutionists. Both bases have banners unlocked for fast travel, so you can easily get there and speak to Katsura. When you speak to him, agree to join forces for the upcoming battle. This decision will initiate one of two sub-missions:
Complete the chosen sub-mission to progress the main storyline and conclude the Wildfire quest. Rewards for this mission are:
The battle unfolds on a vast battlefield, and you enter on horseback. Move towards the first group of enemies, where friendly NPCs are fighting.
After defeating them, your secondary objective is to control the Armstrong Gun, located to the south of the battlefield, left from your current position. Look for the objective marker with a question mark.
In this mission, you will engage with a total of seven bosses. The first two are Toshizo Hijikata and Hachiro Iba. Hijikata mans the gun, alongside Iba. Sometimes they fall off the cliff, but it won’t kill them. Here are the summaries of their attacks:
