How to Solve Freyslaug Settlement Symbol Puzzle in Hellblade 2

To unlock the gate, you need to find three separate symbol pieces hidden around the village. These symbols are pretty gruesome, with dead bodies and chopped-off limbs. But hey, that’s just the vibe of this game! As you get close to a symbol’s location, you’ll see parts of it floating around.

Symbol 1

Face the gate with the symbol on it, then turn completely around and follow the path. Keep an eye out for a bloody, Y-shaped figure hanging there.

Line yourself up directly in front of it and hold the Focus button to capture this first symbol.

Symbol 2

From the last symbol spot, turn back towards the gate. On your right, you’ll see a house with a wheelbarrow and logs outside. Go in there, head through the backdoor, up the slope, and into the ruined house.

Crouch under that fallen beam, then turn right up the wooden slope. Drop down the edge until you get symbol hints. Use Focus to line up the diagonal spear and vertical pole symbol.

Symbol 3

Face the gate again, but this time turn left and follow the path beside that house. It’ll lead you to a small building with a ladder. Climb up to the balcony and move towards the right side.

Look to your left, you’ll spot the final symbol made of tree branches. Line it up with Focus.

Once you’ve nabbed all three symbols, head back to the gate. Use Focus on the complete symbol there, and bam! The passage will unlock, letting you venture deeper into the settlement’s dark secrets.
