Disney Dreamlight Valley’s latest showcase revealed a lot of new content, including a brand-new expansion, fresh updates, and quality-of-life improvements that we are sure fans and players will love.

There were so many features and content unveiled in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s 2024 showcase that will delight the Valley residents. Here is a look at all of the stuff that is coming!
The Storybook Vale Expansion
Coming November 20th, 2024, The Storybook Vale marks the game’s second major expansion, but with a twist. This expansion will be split into just two parts instead of three, based on player feedback. Part 1 will introduce you to a magical realm torn apart by the conflict between two iconic Disney villains, Maleficent and Hades.
New Characters
The first part of the expansion brings three beloved Disney characters to your Valley:
- Merida from Brave
- Flynn Rider from Tangled (with special interactions if you have Rapunzel)
- Hades from Hercules
Part 2, arriving in Summer 2025, will introduce Maleficent and another mystery character (strongly hinted to be Aurora).
New Areas and Features
The Vale introduces three distinct biomes:
- The Bind – Home to mysterious owls
- Everafter – Where adorable mini dragons roam
- Mythopia – Features miniature winged horses inspired by Fantasia
New Tool
You’ll also get access to the new Royal Net tool, used to catch magical “Snippets”. Snippets are origami-like creatures that hold pieces of the Lorekeeper’s story. These Snippets can be found throughout both the Vale and your Valley, with each type requiring unique catching techniques.
Free “Sew Delightful” Update in Disney Dreamlight Valley
December 4th, 2024, will be the next free update coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley. It is called Sew Delightful and will bring Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas to your Valley. You’ll help Jack Skellington find her and set up a special date night while unlocking quilting-themed items and furniture.
Floating Islands
One of the most exciting additions is the new Floating Islands feature. These separate spaces let you expand your decorating possibilities without cluttering your main Valley. Four themed islands will be available at launch:
- Plaza Island
- Forest Island
- Sunlit Island
- Frosted Island
Each island can be purchased with 15,000 Dreamlight and offers space comparable to its Valley counterpart.
Enhanced Decoration Options
The update also introduces 16-direction rotation for all placeable items, a major upgrade from the current four-direction system. This applies to:
- Buildings
- Furniture
- Dropped items
- Landscaping elements
