Unlike other Phenomenon Intel quests, obtaining this prized possession requires navigating a series of puzzles and engaging in the whimsical Cactuar Crush minigame.

Corel Phenomenon Intel: Cactuar Rock 1 

Start your quest in the southern part of the Corel Desert, close to the Gold Saucer entrance. There you’ll encounter a sandstorm and a huge Sand Giant at the beginning. Head towards the nearby Modular Reactor to obtain the Cactuar Statue, an important tool for finding the Cactuar Rocks.

Hold up on the D-Pad, and the statue will emit a green beam, guiding you to the first Cactuar Rock nestled in the rocky area east of the Modular Reactor. Go to the rock and engage in battle with the Orange Cactrots, and strike a ridiculous Cactuar pose to unlock the path to the reactor’s interior.

Within, you’ll encounter Kid G, a friendly Goblin, who will challenge Yuffie to a round of Cactuar Crush. Use Yuffie’s abilities like Windstorm to rack up points and overcome this obstacle. You need 1,000 points to win this.

Corel Phenomenon Intel: Cactuar Rock 2

The second Corel Cactuar Rock locations is in the east. Continue your quest by heading east from Alexander Sanctuary 3 to the next Modular Reactor. Use the Cactuar Statue to find the second Cactuar Rock on a rocky ledge.

Climb the yellow beams to reach the top, where you’ll battle powerful Gold Cactuars. After winning, return to the reactor for another round of Cactuar Crush with Aerith. You need 1,000 points to win this.

Use her Luminous Ward and Shadow Ward abilities to defeat the Lightuars and Darktuars, earning your second piece of the Protorelic in Corel region.

Corel Phenomenon Intel: Cactuar Rock 3

Your quest will pause until the completion of Chapter 12, where the next phase of your journey awaits.

After the climactic Musclehead Colosseum battle, go have a journey southeast of the Gold Saucer to the third Modular Reactor, located north of a Chocobo Stop.

Go down into the nearby cave to the west, and navigate the yellow beams that will lead ou yto the depths where the third Cactuar Rock is located.

Confront the colossal Gigantuar, and after you defeated it, return to the reactor for another round of Cactuar Crush with Yuffie. Use her Wind Current and Banishment to easily defeat the enemy and claim your third Cactuar Rock. You need 4,000 points to win this.

Corel Phenomenon Intel: Cactuar Rock 4

The final Cactuar Rock awaits in the southern region of Corel, east of the Modular Reactor overlooking the ocean.

Fast travel to the nearby Chocobo Stop and ascend the yellow beams, utilizing your grappling hook to swing across to the ledge where the fourth Cactuar Rock resides.

Here you need to beat Gargantuar, and then return to the reactor for Aerith’s last challenge in Cactuar Crush. Once again, her wards will prove invaluable in this battle against the relentless Cactuar onslaught. You will need 2,000 points this time.

Corel Phenomenon Intel Rewards

After completing the last and final round of Cactuar Crush, you will have to fight Kid G. Pressure him by capitalizing on his post-parry and Goblin Beatdown attack to defeat him. And then you will finally unlock Cactuar Crush’s Hard Mode and get the Kid G’s Protorelic!
