Genshin Impact fans have much to look forward to in the game’s upcoming Version 5.2 update. The developer, HoYoverse, has revealed details about a brand-new subregion called Ochkanatlan, also known as the “Fabled Forbidden Ground.”
According to the recent HoYoLAB post, Ochkanatlan is an ancient city shrouded in a sea of fog, where a great dragon is said to lurk in the depths. This new area is described as being corrupted by the powers of the Abyss, one of the game’s major antagonist factions.
Ochkanatlan promises to offer travelers a unique exploration experience, with the ability to soar high above the ancient city. Concept art and in-game screenshots suggest that players will encounter not only the “great dragon” but also other, lower-ranking dragon enemies.
Many fans are speculating about the identity of this legendary dragon, with some hoping it could be connected to one of Genshin Impact’s Seven Sovereigns, similar to the Hydro Dragon Neuvillette introduced in a previous story chapter.
The first part of Genshin Impact’s Version 5.2 update is expected to arrive on November 20, 2023. This will introduce two new playable characters: the five-star Anemo DPS Chasca and the four-star support Ororon.
Later in the update’s second phase, players will also be able to obtain the rerun banner of the powerful Hydro DPS Neuvillette, who may potentially have a connection to the Ochkanatlan region.
