The Haunted Labyrinth in Throne and Liberty poses a formidable challenge, with the Embergourd boss standing as a daunting obstacle. This eerie undead entity employs a variety of tactics to catch players off guard, but with the right approach, the Embergourd can be defeated.

Haunted Labyrinth Embergourd Guide

Embergourd is the final boss you’ll face in the Haunted Labyrinth Dungeon as part of the Haunted Harvest event in Throne and Liberty. Embergourd presents a challenging fight with mechanics similar to bosses in Final Fantasy XIV.

Defeating Embergourd requires strong communication, precise coordination, and practice with your party.

The boss’s primary mechanics include pumpkin lanterns, waves of pumpkins, and fly transformations. Here are the details:

Pumpkin Lanterns

The Embergourd will envelop itself in a massive pumpkin-like shield and spread three lanterns around the arena. The objective is for the party to work together and push these lanterns towards the Embergourd. If successful, the pumpkin shield will be removed, and the Embergourd will be stunned, leaving it vulnerable to attacks.

However, if the party fails to push the lanterns in time, they will explode, dealing significant damage and stunning the entire party.

To remove the shield after a failed attempt, the party must inflict as much damage as possible to the Embergourd while it has the protective pumpkin shield up.

Waves of Pumpkins

The Embergourd’s second mechanic involves spawning three waves of pumpkins that will knock back players upon collision. Some of these pumpkins will have a bright orange glow, indicating that you can interact with them to turn into a pumpkin.

After the third wave, the Embergourd will channel an arena-wide explosion. At this part, you need to get inside one of the pumpkins to avoid damage. Those who fail to find a pumpkin in time will take heavy burst damage, often resulting in an instant death.

The key to this mechanic is to have the party split up and position themselves far back from the Embergourd as soon as the first wave begins, so that anyone unable to secure a pumpkin can prepare for the subsequent waves.

Fly Transformation

Often used as the Embergourd’s final mechanic, this phase involves the boss warping players to the southern side of the arena and transforming them into flies. The Embergourd will then begin casting a binding spell, causing arcane ripples to travel through the ground.

In this phase, you must press the button assigned to your first hotkey when the wave of arcana reaches the Embergourd and it reels back, saying “Gotcha!” This will allow you to avoid the binding attack.

After landing, you must press the hotkey again to regain the ability to move.

This is the tricky part. You must then avoid the bats and make your way to the green circle near the Embergourd, which will remove the fly transformation.

Now that you have passed this mechanic, the next thing to do is whack the boss until its death.

Conclusion

Conquering the Haunted Labyrinth and the Embergourd boss in Throne and Liberty requires a combination of skill, coordination, and perseverance. By understanding the boss’s mechanics, attack patterns, and the importance of team composition, you can overcome this scary boss and reap the rewards of your triumph.
