To begin your search for copper, open your map by pressing [M]. On the map, you’ll notice different biomes in the lower left corner. These biomes represent various land properties, and ores are predominantly found in the ‘land of stone’ biomes. While not all ‘land of stone’ biomes contain copper nodes, they are your best bet for finding this resource.

Persistence is key when searching for copper. Approximately three out of every five ‘land of stone’ biomes visited will have copper nodes. This means you might need to explore several areas before finding a rich deposit. Keep looking around these biomes until you spot the mineral deposits.

Mining Copper Ore

Once you’ve located copper deposits, you’ll need a pickaxe to mine the ore. Since copper is an early-game resource, you can use a basic pickaxe like the Stone Pickaxe. Crafting a Stone Pickaxe requires 2 Long Rough Wood Stock and 1 Gneiss Rock.

Crafting with Copper

Mining resources like copper is indispensable in Pax Dei, as it is required for crafting basic tools, weaponry, and gear. To create copper ingots, you need to combine copper ore and charcoal in a basic furnace. This simple recipe makes it easy to start producing copper ingots early in the game.

Interestingly, tin deposits are often found near copper deposits. Make sure to collect tin ore as well during your mining expeditions. Using a basic furnace, you can smelt tin ore into tin ingots. Combining copper ingots, tin ingots, and charcoal in a basic furnace will yield bronze ingots.

Using Bronze Ingots

Bronze ingots are crucial for jewelry crafting, allowing you to create various accessories such as bracelets, necklaces, and rings. These accessories not only enhance your character’s appearance but also provide beneficial buffs.
