Metaphor ReFantazio Endings
Metaphor ReFantazio features four distinct endings. The endings are as follows:
- The True Ending (Fantasy Lives On)
- Bad Ending 1 (Fantasy is Dead)
- Bad Ending 2 (Fantasy is Ruined)
- Bad Ending 3 (Fantasy is Only Fiction)
If you get a bad ending, do not worry because it won’t permanently mess up your game. You can always reload your last save and try again for another ending. It is a good idea to save every time you are about to make major story choices.
How to Get the True Ending in Metaphor ReFantazio
To reach the true ending, here are the things you need to do:
- Defeat Louis in the final battle on 10/26 at Tyrant’s Star
- Reject all choices that lead to bad endings
- Complete his three challenging battle phases
After you win the final battle against Louis, you will see your character’s face appear on the rock. This means you have won the kingdom’s support. The story then jumps forward a year to show how the kingdom has changed after you ruled them.
If you complete the Trial of Dragons quest line, you will also get some special dialogue from Neuras during the ending.
How to Get Bad Ending 1 in Metaphor ReFantazio
- Bad Ending 1: Fantasy is Dead
- Date: 9/24
To trigger this ending, go to the Ancient Eldan Sanctum and find the Prince’s body. A mysterious voice will then reveal your true identity. To unlock this ending, choose:
- “It came to nothing”
- “It was all a mistake…”
- “…Lies dead before me”
These choices represent refusing to accept your destiny, cutting your journey short.
How to Get Bad Ending 2 in Metaphor ReFantazio
- Bad Ending 2: Fantasy is Ruined
- Date: 9/26 – 10/25
You’ll find this ending at the Skybound Avatar when meeting Louis. He’ll give a speech about changing the world, even if it means making it more cruel. To trigger this ending, here is what you need to do:
- Choose “You’re absolutely right” when he asks you to join him
- Your companions will reluctantly follow your choice
- The world transforms into a darker version ruled by humans
How to Get Bad Ending 3 in Metaphor ReFantazio
- Bad Ending 3: Fantasy is Only Fiction
- Date: 10/26
This ending occurs during the final battle with Louis. After defeating his first phase:
- More will teleport you to Shibuya, Tokyo
- He reveals that the fantasy world isn’t real
- Choose “I understand. You’re right” to accept his version of reality
Note: Getting this ending means you’ll need to redo the boss fight if you want to continue toward the true ending.
