How to Tame Animals in Once Human

Before you can start taming animals you need to unlock the right abilities. Head to the Memetics menu and find the Logistics tab.

Look for Animal Capture and Animal Taming in the fourth tier called Transcendence. You’ll need 14 meme points to unlock both abilities.

Crafting Tranquilizer Throwing Needles

Once you’ve unlocked the abilities go to your Advanced Supply bench. Here you can craft Tranquilizer Throwing Needles. You’ll need:

• 3 Steel Ingots
• 8 Engineering Plastic
• 5 Rubber
• 3 Stardust

Make sure to craft several needles as animals can be tricky to hit.

Capturing Animals in the Wild

Now it’s time for hunting! Head out into the wilderness to find an animal you want to tame and follow these steps to capture them:

• Look at its health bar and you’ll see a white notch. You need to lower the animal’s health below that notch to capture it.
• Once the animal’s health is low enough equip your Tranquilizer Throwing Needles.
• Aim carefully and throw the Tranquilizers at the animal. It might take a few tries but once you hit it the animal will fall asleep.
• Quickly run up and press ‘F’ to capture it before it wakes up.

Creating an Animal Pen

Back at your base, you’ll need to build a pen for your new animal friend. Make sure there are no gaps in the fencing as animals can escape easily.

Be extra careful with predators like wolves as they’ll attack you until they’re fully tamed.

Feeding and Caring for the Animals

Build an Animal Trough in your pen. You’ll find this under the Function Facility submenu in Agriculture.

Fill the trough with water and food. Each animal has preferred foods which you can see by hovering over them in your inventory.
