Monster Hunter Wilds is set to be released soon, and fans all over the world are buzzing with excitement. One of the aspects that makes the Monster Hunter series great is its weapons. Capcom has revealed the available weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds. Let’s take a look at the details!

MH Wilds Weapon List

Capcom revealed that there will be 14 different weapon types in Monster Hunter Wilds. This number is the same as in Monster Hunter World, meaning there will be no new weapons:

  • Great Sword
  • Sword & Shield
  • Dual Blades
  • Long Sword
  • Hammer
  • Hunting Horn
  • Lance
  • Gunlance
  • Switch Axe
  • Charge Blade
  • Insect Glaive
  • Light Bowgun
  • Heavy Bowgun
  • Bow

However, the Monster Hunter series always innovates with its new titles. In Wilds, which will be released soon, each weapon has been updated with new mechanics.

MH Wilds Biggest Weapon Changes

While the weapon list remains the same as in previous titles, MH Wilds is introducing a lot of new game-changing mechanics and weapon updates, no matter what MH Wilds edition you get.

Great Sword, already one of the strongest and deadliest weapons in the current Monster Hunter titles, seems to be getting a huge buff in MH Wilds. With the new Focus Mode, hunters can now completely change direction while charging the Great Sword. Great Sword players would agree on how game-changing this buff is.

Another weapon that seems to get significant changes is Gunlance. Gunlance can now perform a sidestep shot, which provides a great mobility buff. There are also new moves that not only look cool but also offer great advantages.

The Bow is also seeing a lot of changes. In addition to new movement options, there’s a new mechanic called the Tracer. If hunters hit a monster with a Tracer, the arrows will home in on the target.

New Focus Mode

While the other weapons mentioned above are seeing the most significant changes, the new Focus Mode adds new movements to all weapons.

For example, Dual Blades can now perform a whole-body roll attack by activating the Focus Mode. So, hunters no longer need to find slopes to slide and execute this special attack.

Overall, all the weapons have cool new movesets thanks to Focus Mode.

In conclusion, Monster Hunter Wilds is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the series, with familiar weapons receiving impactful upgrades.

While no new weapons are being introduced, the addition of Focus Mode and unique mechanics like the Great Sword’s directional charge and Bow’s Tracer promise to add new exciting experiences for MH lovers.
