To obtain Mega Gyarados, trainers must first gather 300 Mega Energy by defeating Mega Gyarados in Mega Raids or completing specific Research Tasks during events. Once you’ve collected enough Mega Energy, you can use it to Mega Evolve a regular Gyarados. After the initial Mega Evolution, the cost will drop to 60 Mega Energy for subsequent evolutions.

Shiny Mega Gyarados is available in Pokemon GO, sporting its iconic red coloration. To get a Shiny Mega Gyarados, you’ll need to be lucky enough to encounter and catch a Shiny Gyarados, then gather the necessary Mega Energy to Mega Evolve it.
