Rise of the Ronin: The Men from Tosa Quest Guide

This quest takes place in the northern Hadogaya area of Yokohama, and it involves teaming up with two ronin, Ryoma and Izo, to take down a government official they believe is getting too close to the foreigners. Here’s a breakdown of how to complete The Men from Tosa in Rise of the Ronin.
The Men from Tosa Quest Guide in Rise of the Ronin
To start this quest, you need to head to the small isolated hut just north of Hadogaya Post in the Hotogaya district.
This location becomes available after completing the main mission A Pleasure District Portrait. Once there, you will meet up with Ryoma and Izo, who will ask for your help in their plan.
Step 1: Agree to Help Ryoma and Izo
You can choose to say “Assassination is not the answer” if you have the Persuade skill, which will deepen your bond with Ryoma Sakamoto. Any other option will also progress the quest.
Step 2: Follow Ryoma and Izo
Follow Ryoma and Izo as they run off, listening to their conversation about the current state of Japan and their plan of attack.
Step 3: Reach the Destination
Reach the destination, where you will see your target surrounded by four guards walking along the street.
Use the grapple point to reach the cliff overlooking the path and drop down to take out one of the guards from above before engaging the rest.
Step 4: Defeat the Enemies
Defeat all five enemies, including the target. Once they are all dead, you will have one last dialogue choice, and the Bond mission will be completed.

Upon completing this quest, you will receive the following rewards:
- 1200 Coins
- 35 XP
- Combat Style: Kyoshin Meichi-ryu (Paired Swords)
- Greenhorn’s Paired Swords
- Faded Scroll (Flower)
- Healing Elixir x1
The Men from Tosa quest is the first of five missions you must tackle to strengthen your bond with Ryoma Sakamoto. Strengthening your bond with Ryoma will provide you with various rewards, including attribute upgrades and new combat abilities.
