Where to Find Horses in V Rising

Horses start appearing in the Dunley Farmlands. This area contains farms scattered throughout, many of which have small stables housing horses.

To easily locate horses, look for the horseshoe icon when hovering over an area on the map. While not all locations with horses will have this icon, it is a good starting point. Horses can also be found in small stables without the icon, so it pays to explore.

Horse Stats

Taming a horse in V Rising is a simple process. Approach the horse and hold the “F” key to mount it. Once mounted, press the “Tab” key to view the horse’s stats, which include:

  • Max Speed: The best possible value is 11.
  • Acceleration: The best possible value is 7.
  • Rotation Speed: The best possible value is 14.

After mounting a horse, a timer will appear, indicating how long the horse will remain alive before dying and respawning. To keep a horse with desirable stats alive, feed it Plant Fiber. A single stack of Plant Fiber will increase the horse’s lifespan from 16 hours to 2 days.

After reaching Castle Level 4, you will gain access to the “Dominate Horse” spell. This spell allows you to claim a horse as your own, granting additional benefits and protection. To dominate a horse, simply cast the spell while channeling it on the horse for about 5 seconds.

Once dominated, your horse will turn black and gain the following features:

  • Customizable Name: Click the pencil icon to name your horse.
  • Saddle Slot: Craft a Vampire Horse Saddle at the Leatherworking Station to increase your mount’s speed and acceleration by 1 each.
  • Recall and Revive: You can now summon your horse at will and revive it if it dies, eliminating the need to feed it Plant Fiber.
  • Increased Abilities: Your dominated horse can now jump over fences using the spacebar and perform a gallop with the “E” key.
