Riot Games has released the latest Valorant update, patch 8.09, which brings a slight buff to the Controller Agent Brimstone and fixes several bugs, including an issue with crosshair profiles. This update follows the previous patch 8.08, which heavily nerfed Viper, another Controller Agent dominating the meta.

The main highlight of the Valorant 8.09 patch notes is the adjustment made to Brimstone’s Sky Smokes (E) ability.

  • The radius of his smoke has been increased from 410 to 415, making it similar in size to Omen’s Dark Cover smokes.
  • Additionally, the UI targeting size has been updated to accurately reflect the smoke’s area of effect.

Now let’s take a look at the complete patch notes:

Agent Updates

Brimstone

We’ve done some small updates to Brimstone’s Sky Smoke (E) to ensure that it fully covers the area indicated by the UI when you are placing it. This should ensure that when the outer edge of the targeting UI covers a choke point that the spawned smoke will fully cover that area as well. This change includes a slight increase to the radius of Brimstone’s smoke that should make it match the smoke size of his peers like Omen.

  • Sky Smoke (E)
    • Radius increased 410 >>> 415
    • UI targeting size updated so that outer edge properly reflects the size of the smoke

Bug Fixes

Gameplay Systems

  • Fixed an issue that resulted in you losing your crosshair profiles.
  • Fixed an issue regarding Killed By feed on Combat Reports being incorrect.
  • Fixed bullet tracers still being visible after being turned off in Settings if the player fires away from the map.
  • Fixed an issue where the client would freeze after a game ends and would require a client restart to continue.

Crosshair Profiles Fix

One of the most annoying bugs players have been facing recently is the loss of their saved crosshair profiles. Fortunately, Valorant patch 8.09 addresses this issue and fixes the bug that caused crosshair profiles to disappear.

While Riot Games cannot recover lost crosshair profile settings, they have expressed gratitude for the information provided by players to help reach a swift resolution.

Players are advised to inform Player Support if their newly created crosshair profiles continue to disappear.

Conclusion

While Valorant patch 8.09 may be a relatively minor update, it addresses some crucial issues and brings a slight buff to Brimstone’s smoke ability. You can now enjoy a more consistent smoke coverage and a smoother experience with their crosshair profiles and Combat Reports.
