Valorant is Coming to Consoles Next Week!

After four years of dominating the PC gaming scene, Riot Games’ Valorant is finally coming to consoles. The developer revealed this announcement during the 2024 Summer Game Fest. Valorant Release Date for Consoles and How to Sign Up
In the 2024 Summer Game Fest, Riot Games announced that a limited beta for Valorant on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will kick off on June 14th, 2024. The limited beta launch will initially be available in selected regions first.
When the game launches on consoles, Riot will track the beta progress and decide if it can be released globally. If you want to sign up for a chance to join the beta, you can do it through Valorant’s official website.
There are some rules if you want to join the Valorant Console Limited Beta. You must:
- Sign up for the VALORANT Beta or get a referral link from someone invited by Riot Games.
- Live in the NA, EU, or JP regions.
- Have a VALORANT account in good standing (no current bans/suspensions).
- Own an Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation5.
Invitations will be sent out when the Limited Beta goes live. Remember, that signing up for the Limited Beta does not guarantee an invitation.
Will Valorant be Available for Crossplay?
Unfortunately, there will be no crossplay available between PC and console players. The reason is that Riot Games has already designed and custom-built the gameplay in consoles to feel natural with a controller. It is built to provide the same competitive experience as the PC version.
Valorant’s production director Arnar Hrafn Gylfason emphasized that “the team was prepared to walk away from the project if they couldn’t deliver on the promise of a precise, team-based, tactical shooter experience on consoles.”
While cross-play may not be available, Valorant players can look forward to cross-progression between PCs and consoles. All skins, battle pass rewards, and account progression will carry over to the consoles, so players can switch between platforms without losing the collectibles that they have earned before.
Simultaneous Valorant Updates for All Platforms
Another good news for Valorant players, Riot Games has also committed to releasing new agents, maps, and balance patches simultaneously across all platforms. This they will do to make sure that new console players won’t be left behind, enjoying the same content and updates as PC players.
