Wuthering Waves offers players a vast fantasy world to explore and numerous quests to undertake. One of the side quests available is A True Arena Champion, also known as The Hidden Truth, which takes place on an island called Remnant Residence.
This guide will walk you through the steps necessary to complete this quest and unlock the A Desperate Gamble trophy.
How to unlock A True Arena Champion Quest / The Hidden Truth
To begin the quest, players must first travel to the small unmarked island located north of Remnant Residence. Upon arriving, assist Zeyuan, an Exile Commoner, by defeating the enemies in the area. After engaging in a brief conversation with Zeyuan, the A True Arena Champion quest will be added to your Quest List.
Completing the Three Trials
- Find Zeyuan at the Exile Camp: Follow the quest marker to the nearby camp entry and speak with Zeyuan to obtain the Camp Access Pass.
- Complete the First Trial Proceed to the receptionist in the camp to apply for the Seaside Arena. To gain entry, players must complete three trials. The first trial involves climbing a building to retrieve a gun. Follow the quest marker and use a combination of wall climbing and gliding to reach the top of the building where the receptionist is standing. Return to the receptionist to receive your first badge.
- Complete the Second Trial The second trial is a shooting challenge. Equip any of your Pistol Resonators, such as Chixia, to complete the trial within the 2-minute time limit. Upon completion, return to the receptionist to receive your second badge.
- Complete the Final Trial For the final trial, set the in-game time to 17:00 and follow the quest marker to speak with the Exile Resonator. Defeat the Echo in battle to complete the trial and receive your third badge. Submit all three badges to the receptionist to complete your registration.
Conquering the Seaside Arena
- Enter the Seaside Arena After arriving at the Seaside Arena, players must withstand three waves of increasingly difficult battles. Defeat all enemies to progress.
- Defeat the Arena Champion Once the waves are cleared, speak with the Gladiator Champion and Exile Resonator. Set the in-game time to 12:00 the following day to initiate the final battle.
- Phase 1: Follow the quest marker to the arena and confront the Gladiator Champion, who will be accompanied by two Chasm Guardian Echoes. Focus on defeating the Gladiator Champion to end the first phase.
- Phase 2: After the Gladiator Champion’s first defeat, the second phase will begin. The champion will summon Prism Echoes to aid him in battle. Prioritize eliminating the Prism Echoes, as they power up the champion, before focusing your attacks on the Gladiator Champion himself.
Once the Gladiator Champion is defeated in the second phase, the quest will conclude. Return to the Exile Camp and speak with the marked individuals to bid farewell and collect your rewards.
The Hidden Truth Quest Rewards and Trophy Unlock
Upon completing the A True Arena Champion quest, players will receive the following rewards:
- Medium Resonance Potion x4
- Medium Energy Core x4
- Medium Sealed Tube x2
- Shell Credit x6000
Additionally, completing this side quest will unlock the A Desperate Gamble trophy, despite the trophy description stating “Complete the Hidden Truth.”
