Yamato is one of the coolest-looking heroes in Deadlock. As a samurai/ninja, he excels in close-combat DPS. To make him both deadly and durable, it’s crucial to build him with the right items. This guide will cover the best Yamato build in Deadlock.

Yamato Skill Progression

Deadlock Yamato Ability Order
Close the gap using your second skill.

All heroes in Deadlock have four abilities, including an ultimate. Here is the complete list of Yamato’s skills:

  • Power Slash: Channel to increase damage over 1.5 seconds, then release a fully-charged sword strike.
  • Flying Strike: Throw a grappling hook to reel yourself towards an enemy, damaging and slowing the target when you arrive.
  • Crimson Slash: Slash enemies in front of you, damaging them and slowing their fire rate. If any enemy heroes are hit, you heal.
  • Shadow Transformation: Become infused with Yamato’s shadow soul. After an initial invincible transformation, your abilities are refreshed and are 60% faster, your weapon has infinite ammo, and you gain damage resists and immunity to negative status effects. You are unable to die in this mode.

Flying Strike and Shadow Transformation are Yamato’s core skills. Make sure to prioritize maxing these out first to fully harness his close-combat potential.
