Pokemon GO brings a mix of exciting events in August 2024. From Adventure Week to Community Days, there’s something for everyone this month. Let’s dive into all the upcoming Pokemon GO events in August 2024.

Adventure Week kicks off the month with increased chances to catch shiny rock-type Pokemon. Keep an eye out for Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, Archen, Tyrunt and Amaura. There are also special 7km eggs to hatch.
Mega Rayquaza makes a comeback on August 3rd. This makeup event lets you battle this powerful Pokemon in remote-friendly Mega Raids at 1 PM and 6 PM local time.
The month wraps up with Popplio Community Day on August 31st. You’ll have three hours to catch as many water-type starters as possible. You might even snag a shiny one!

Each Spotlight Hour comes with a bonus like double catch XP or candy. It’s a great chance to stock up on resources.
Throughout August you’ll see different Legendary Pokemon in five-star raids. Moltres, Thundurus, and Xerneas will each have their time to shine.

For those who complete Field Research tasks, there’s a chance to encounter Pokemon like Hisuian Growlithe, Furfrou, Audino, Larvitar, Jangmo-o, and Axew as Research Breakthrough rewards.
August is part of the “Season of Shared Skies” which runs until September 3rd. This theme brings flying and dragon-type Pokemon to the forefront.
One of the most intriguing events is “Adventure Week: Taken Over” from August 8-12. You’ll get a Special Research story to help save Shadow Cresselia from Team GO Rocket. Make sure to claim this research before September 3rd when the season ends.
