As autumn approaches, Pokemon Go trainers have plenty to look forward to in September 2024. The month is packed with exciting events, raids, and Spotlight Hours that promise to keep players engaged and entertained. From the introduction of Galar region Pokemon to the debut of Dynamax battles, there’s something for every trainer to enjoy.
September marks the beginning of Pokemon Go’s 16th season, aptly named the “Season of Max Out.” Running from September 3rd, 2024, to December 3rd, 2024, this season brings a host of new features and Pokemon to the game. Trainers can expect to see Galar region Pokemon make their debut, adding fresh faces to their Pokedex.
The month starts strong with two back-to-back events that are sure to excite trainers of all levels:
Duration: September 3rd – September 10th, 2024
Kicking off the month is the “Go All Out” event. This week-long celebration introduces the Galar First Partner trio and Dreepy to Pokemon Go. Lucky trainers might even encounter shiny versions of Wooloo and Skwovet. The event will give trainers a collection of challenges, special bonuses, and unique Field Research tasks to keep them busy.

Following closely is the “Go Big” event which marks a significant milestone in Pokemon Go history – the introduction of Dynamax battles. For the first time ever, Max Battles will be available featuring:

This month’s Community Day features both Kanto and Galarian Ponyta. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, trainers will have increased chances to catch these fiery equines.
The real treat comes when evolving either form into Rapidash during the event window granting them the exclusive move Wild Charge.

Later in the month at the same time (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time), trainers can participate in a special Research Day focused on Oranguru and Passimian. This event offers a unique opportunity to encounter these Pokemon through special research tasks.

The month starts with Kyogre taking the spotlight. Groudon then takes over from September 14 to September 26. These powerful creatures from the Hoenn region are always popular raid targets given their strength in both PvE and PvP battles.

The end of the month brings exciting news for shiny hunters. Zacian makes its raid debut and for the first time ever, trainers have a chance to encounter its shiny form.
Mega Raids feature Mega Absol (September 3-14) Mega Houndoom (September 14-26) and Mega Gardevoir (September 26 – October 4). All of these Mega-evolved Pokemon can be encountered in their shiny forms adding extra excitement to these challenging battles.
For those seeking an extra challenge, Shadow Raikou will be appearing in Shadow Raids during weekends throughout September.
Every Tuesday in September, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, trainers can participate in Spotlight Hours. Each week features a different Pokemon and bonus:
