Discover how to find caves and get iron in ASKA, a vital resource for crafting powerful tools and weapons.
In the world of ASKA, iron is a crucial resource for crafting sturdy tools, weapons, and building upgrades. However, obtaining this valuable mineral can be challenging, as it is exclusively found within caves. With only one cave per map and a limited number of iron deposits, it’s essential to know how to locate and mine this precious resource effectively.
To begin your search for iron, you must first find the cave entrance. Caves in ASKA can be identified by using the “Search Area” ability (default: Z key).
When activated, this ability highlights resources in the surrounding area. Keep an eye out for a large, glowing rock formation that stands out from the rest. This unique structure is where you’ll be able to construct the cave entrance.
Building the mine near your village will make it easier for your villagers to access and work within the cave. Additionally, finding a cave near the sea can be beneficial, as it may provide quicker access to other resources.
After pinpointing the ideal location for your cave entrance, you can begin construction from the build menu. With the prerequisite buildings in place (Simple Fire, Campfire, Shelter, the Eye of Odin, Stonecutter’s Pit, Woodcutter’s Pit, and Workshop Pit) and the Large Stone Axe in hand, you can now gather the materials needed for the Cave Entrance.
You’ll require:
Assign villagers to work in the mine, and provide them with torches to help navigate the dark passages. As your villagers mine, they will gather raw ore and stone, placing them outside the cave for easy collection.
It’s important to note that iron deposits in ASKA are limited. And remember, you can only construct one Cave Entrance per Cave Stone, and most maps contain only one Cave Stone.
Once these deposits of Iron are exhausted, you’ll need to find alternative ways to get them, such as defeating enemies like Draugrs, who may occasionally drop this valuable resource.
Before you can craft with iron, you’ll need to process the raw ore into a usable form. This requires two essential structures: the Coal Maker and the Bloomery furnace.
The Coal Maker is responsible for turning firewood pyres into coal, a necessary fuel source for the Bloomery furnace. Once you have a sufficient supply of coal, you can use the Bloomery to smelt the raw iron ore into iron blooms. These blooms can then be used to craft various tools, weapons, and building components at the appropriate workstations.
Given the limited nature of iron deposits in ASKA, it’s crucial to use this resource wisely. Prioritize crafting essential tools and weapons, and be mindful of the iron required for building upgrades.
By following these steps and carefully managing your iron resources, you’ll be well-equipped to tackle the challenges that await you in the world of ASKA.
